I Love the challenge of taking a feeling and giving it breath in the form of visual representation.  This was a fun and meaningful project that hit very close to heart.  The work looks even better in hand ;)

"Drumbeat Hear My Cry is a poetic journey through Black America though not to be confined to Black America. Much of what this nation is going through has distinct parallels to the Black experience. I took the hardships of my life on South Side Chicago to exhibit the frailty of this nation. The human experience is without prejudice to the maladies of regression, victimization and hopelessness."
